PPG Minutes - 7th March 2024

Introduction from Gill Grant and welcome

Welcome to Tony Murdoch a new member

  1. PPG:  Patients need a prescription pathway please publish in the next Patients Newsletter and on the website. Practice response: The practice will look into this and create a Prescription Flow chart for patients to follow.
  2. PPG: Requested a better appointment cancellation system for  patients. Practice  response:  At this time it is not possible to install a separate appointment cancellation line, patients are however able to cancel appointments if they have access to Systmone online
  3. PPG: Many concerns are being received regarding blood tests. Practice response: Dr Brennan provided an explanation of the common responses used when reporting blood test results, the practice will look to create a document that briefly explains the what the common responses mean, this can then be displayed in the waiting room
  4. PPG:  As the CQC inspection was done by data analysis last year we requested that if an in-house inspection is done in the future a member of the PPG would like to attend. Practice response:  Dr Brennan explained the CQC process of monitoring practices has changed and the surgery is now monitored remotely by the CQC. We are non expecting an in-person inspection currently, If or when we do we will of course update the PPG.
  5. PPG:  patients are still concerned about the wording Pre-diabetic. Practice response: The Practice will look into this feedback from the PPG and patients will be better informed in the future. The PPG agreed to look at creating a wellbeing display on the PPG notice board to help ease patients concerns
  6. PPG:  Lakeside Yaxley  website contains more detailed information than other Lakeside Surgeries especially availability of GPs. Practice response: The PPG were reminded that the GP's usual working days are noted on the Oundle Surgery website and agreed that was OK.
  7. PPG:  Patients have asked for Photos of Staff to  be placed in the surgery. Practice response: The Lakeside communications team are currently creating a poster for the waiting area with photographs of the GP Partners.
  8. Patients requiring assistance with the new system Anima can be given help at the Surgery
